Senior Software Developer - Java (Mobile Entertainment)

Location: San Francisco, CA

Position Summary:

AirPlay is seeking a Java Developer to be a key member of AirPlay Network's talented software engineering team. As a member of the Server Development Engineering team, the successful candidate will significantly influence and actively participate in the development of a rich and interactive application reaching a large and ever-expanding mobile consumer base.

Responsibilities:

• Develop games and applications for mobile platforms
• Act as a key member of a software development team responsible for programming mobile games
• Coordinate with the QA team for product testing and bug fixes
• Own features from inception to completion, including working with product management to refine requirements, maintaining internal documentation, and producing tests alongside code

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years experience using Java in a web based project.
• BS/MS in CS or equivalent.
• A solid understanding of Java & J2EE.
• Experience with managing large volumes of code in multiple branches in source control.
• Solid working knowledge of UNIX, preferably Linux.
• SQL (particularly Postgres)
• Experience with Hibernate
• Fluency with Java development tools: Ant, Junit, Eclipse, etc.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond well under pressure
• A self-starter who is comfortable working both individually and as part of a team.

Not required, but highly desirable:

• Mobile experience
• Technical interest in media related technologies on Linux: mplayer, vlc, MythTV
• Tapestry 4, Tacos, and experience with building reusable Tapestry components
• Being a Python snake charmer: Twisted, pgdb, Boost.
• Knowing why Java NIO, Java concurrent, and SEDA are so useful in server side development
